This event will be conducted in Spanish and English with a translator.
This 3 hour introduction to the Meisner Technique from internationally renowned acting coach Steven Ditmyer, who studied with Sanford Meisner himself, is a great way to learn more about the Meisner Acting Technique and to get a feel for how Steven teaches.
This is an adult acting class for 18 years and older.

"The Meisner Technique was developed by Sanford Meisner at The Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City, where he taught for more than 50 years, and where I had the privilege of being one of his students 36 years ago.
In his work at the Playhouse, Meisner trained many of our most distinguished actors and directors, including Robert Duvall, Sydney Pollack, Tony Randall, Sidney Lumet, Christopher Lloyd, James Caan, Diane Keaton, Joanne Woodward, Steve McQueen, Jeff Goldblum, Allison Janney, Sandra Bullock, Viola Davis and many more.

STEVEN DITMYER is a Director and Acting Teacher who studied with Sanford Meisner, Uta Hagen and Zoe Caldwell. He is a scholarship graduate of The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City where he later was invited to train as a teacher of the Meisner technique.
He is the Founder of MEISNER INTERNATIONAL, teaching workshops in New York, Atlanta, London, Paris, Rome, Vienna, Berlin, Amsterdam, Warsaw, Lisbon, Barcelona, Helsinki, Vilnius, Tallinn, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Quito, Guayaquil, and Bogota.
In New York, Steven is a member of the Playwrights and Directors Unit at The Actors Studio and a member of The Actors Gym with Bobby Moresco and a guest teacher and director at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
As an actor, he worked with many great artists such as Al Pacino, Arthur Miller, Tony Randall, Ron Rifkin, Zoe Caldwell, Sam Waterston, Diane Wiest, Blythe Danner and more.
Steven recently directed the Vienna premier of Cock by Mike Bartlett which had two sold out runs at the Off Theatre Vienna, Austria and will be performing in Innsbruck and Barcelona in 2027. He directed Al Tapper’s new play Bettinger’s Luggage which had a 6-week run Off-Broadway in the Fall of 2023 at the new AMT Theater. He recently directed readings of new plays at The Actors Studio featuring Dan Lauria and at Eric Krebbs Theatre 555 featuring Richard Masur. He directed the Florida premiere of Sarah Ruhl’s play How To Transcend A Happy Marriage at the Florida Laboratory Theatre. He will be directing the premier of Tom Cavanaugh’s new play Barklee with Vincent Piazza opening Off-Broadway in 2026 as well as the New York revival of Richard Kalinoski’s award winning play Beast On the Moon. He is the Executive Producer of the short film Hard Work directed by Julie Pacino.
Steven was the director of the OFF THE PAGE Reading Series for Tony Randall’s National Actors Theatre in New York with such notable productions as: The Night Of The Iguana with Alec Baldwin, Golf With Alan Shepard with Jack Klugman, Charles Durning, Len Cariou and John Cullum and Ladies In Retirement with Rosemary Harris and Marion Seldes.
Steven has directed many productions in New York working with such notable playwrights as Robert Askins, James McClure, Bruce Jay Friedman, Albert Bermel, Jack Gilhooley, Gail Sheehy and with such notable actors as Marian Seldes, Brian Murray, Lois Smith, Dana Ivey, Danny Burstein, Dan Lauria, John Pankow, Brian Geraghty and many more.
He was the Co-Director of The Workshop at the Neighborhood Playhouse where he directed several new plays and was a founding director of the A-Train Plays (written and performed in 24 hours) where he directed The Casseroles of Far Rockaway by Seth Bauer (winner of the 2004 Samuel French Festival). Steven was the Artistic Director of The Neighborhood Theatre Company in Naples, Florida for three years where he directed an acclaimed production of the one woman show The Syringa Tree, featuring his wife, Tamara Flannagan.
