Barbell 301: SFL Ready

The final step in your journey towards the StrongFirst Lifter Instructor Certification is mastering the squat.

If you are committed to building as much muscle as your frame can carry, you must back squat—there are no “ifs” or “buts” about it.

Done right, the Back Squat is a builder with no equals. Done wrong, it can wreck you for good. Our instruction is obsessively precise.

The Front Squat is more accessible. For most athletes it is a better choice than the back squat—unless hypertrophy is the top priority.

The Good Morning is another “restricted entry” exercise. It is the “grind” counterpart of the kettlebell swing. The GM trains the entire posterior chain, from the base of your skull to your feet. Strength gains directly carry over to the SQ, the DL, and great many athletic applications.

Barbell 301 will give you all the tools to prepare for the most exclusive and detailed barbell strength instructor certification—StrongFirst Lifter (SFL)—including an exact training cycle specially designed to prepare you for the tests.

*Bonus* Mini Workshop: Hard Style Abs, Joint Prep, and Technique for the KB Military Press and KB Push Press
  • The KB Military Press: This lesson will be taught in layers to create joint space and preparation for movement in the ankles, hips, spine, and shoulders while learning the technique behind the KB MIlitary Press.
  • Building on your KB Military Press, the Push Press will add power, coordination, and control to your press and open the door to heavier loads!
  • Learn how to set YOUR structure, breathe behind the shield, and optimize use of the preparation techniques (and the drills leading to the full movement) for your practice and goals in pressing the KB overhead in both the strict KB Press and Push Press.
  • Learn Hard Style Abs drills to help optimize your set-up and movement path for your structure, joint space, strength levels, and training objectives specific to the KB Military Press.
  • Learn how to safely apply your breath and add tension to maximize strength and relaxation in your movements and preparation.
  • Learn how to apply fast and loose techniques between reps and sets as needed for effective recovery
  • Get real time practice and troubleshooting with our StrongFirst Certified Teachers of Strength team
  • Applicable and available to all skill levels. Our objective is to help you find the variation that best suits where your body is NOW and how to move better and get stronger from there.

Whether you are a beginner in the strength world, an avid lifter, or a recreational athlete getting back into it, our team is honored to share in the education and strength with you!

BB 301: SFL Ready (BB Front Squat, BB Back Squat, BB Good Morning): $105 EARLY BIRD (all tickets purchased on or after 17 October 2025 will be $140).

Combo Ticket (Bonus Mini Workshop + BB 301): $130 EARLY BIRD (all tickets purchased on or after 17 October 2025 will be $180).
