Santa Barbara, CA — Trek Santa Barbara is excited to continue its Legends of Santa Barbara speaker series with a special evening featuring Barbara Edelston Peterson of Montecito on April 9.

The Legends of Santa Barbara series celebrates the athletes, advocates, and cycling pioneers who have shaped and inspired the local riding community. Each event offers an intimate, in-store Q&A experience designed to connect riders of all ages with the stories behind Santa Barbara’s most influential cyclists.

Barbara Edelston Peterson is not only a passionate cyclist and community leader, but also an accomplished author. She is the writer of Whole Athlete Makes the Whole World Better and Kvell, books that reflect her belief in the transformative power of sport, mindset, and personal growth. Her work explores how athletic discipline, resilience, and purpose extend far beyond competition—positively impacting families, communities, and the broader world.

During the evening, Peterson will share insights from her cycling journey, discuss the philosophy behind her books, and reflect on the role athletics play in building stronger individuals and communities.
