On Friday, January 24, Ride Out, BBB Cycling and creative agency Dirtworm invite you to a special evening where cycling, film and ambition come together, with a screening of BARABARA.

BARABARA follows the first ever professional road season of Team AMANI, the first African based continental cycling team. Founded with the belief that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not, Team AMANI set out to show what’s possible when riders from the region are given meaningful chances to compete.

In the early days, racing on the road wasn’t an option. Limited resources made traditional road racing inaccessible. Gravel, with its lower barrier to entry and growing professionalism, became the team’s way in. It was the first step, the foot in the door.

But once inside, a new dream emerged.

What if more was possible? What if the road itself became the goal?

This film captures Team AMANI’s transition into the world of road racing. The challenges, the doubts, the ambition and the very first steps toward reaching the highest level of the sport. It’s a story about belief, persistence and daring to dream beyond what seems realistic.

Directed by filmmaker Finley Newmark, BARABARA is more than a cycling film. It’s a reflection on access, representation and the power of sport to open new roads.

After the screening, we talk, connect and unwind. BBB Cycling, proud sponsor of Team AMANI, will host a cycling themed pub quiz during the drinks. Join in, or simply enjoy the atmosphere.
