Beginner class

This Beginner Mahjong class is designed for anyone who’s curious about the game and wants to learn in a relaxed, social, and supportive environment. No prior experience is needed, this is the perfect place to start! The class includes the complete Mahjong experience, with all equipment thoughtfully provided; premium tiles, racks, dice, NMJL cards, and instructional materials to support your learning. We’ll walk through the basics step by step, from understanding the tiles and the NMJL card to learning how a game flows.

What is Mahjong Social Co?

Mahjong Social Co is Mahjong focused community that is based in Western suburbs of Chicago and is led by owner and instructor Lisa Hinsberger. Mahjong Social Co is offering thoughtfully curated beginner and intermediate lessons, private group experiences, social play events, and guided open play sessions. More than just teaching the game, Mahjong Social Co is centered around building connection, fostering community, and spreading the love of Mahjong in a way that feels welcoming, modern, and fun. Each event is designed to bring people together, whether they’re learning for the first time or refining their strategy. The focus is to create a space where laughter, confidence, and camaraderie naturally grow around the table.
