Join the Baptist Student Fellowship as Matt Emerson and Brandon Smith join us via Zoom to discuss their work with the Center for Baptist Renewal, the relationship between Baptists and the wider Christian tradition, and their own projects related to Baptist history and theology.

Matthew Y. Emerson (Ph.D., Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary) is Co-Provost and Dean of Theology, Arts, & Humanities at Oklahoma Baptist University. His books include (IVP Academic, 2019) and (B&H Academic, 2017), along with a number of essays and articles. Matthew is also the co-editor of the Journal of Baptist Studies, and, along with R. Lucas Stamps and Christopher Morgan, the co-editor of (B&H Academic, 2020). His research interests include biblical theology, early Christian interpretation, and Baptist catholicity. Matt is married to Alicia and has five beautiful daughters.

Brandon D. Smith (Ph.D., Ridley College, Melbourne) is Chair of the Hobbs School of Theology & Ministry and Associate Professor of Theology & Early Christianity at Oklahoma Baptist University. He also hosts the Church Grammar podcast and is the author of (IVP Academic, 2022), (Lexham, 2023), and (B&H Academic, 2024). He was also an editor for the (Holman, 2019). His research interests include the Trinity, canonical and theological interpretation, and patristic theology. Brandon is married to Christa and has four children.
