In preparation for champions or War of the Phoenix we are please to offer you a banner making class. Taught by THL Isabelle Le Charpentier de Normandie, you will learn to use a resist and paint on silk. We only have space for 6 people.
You will be provided 15” x 5 ft long banner. The class is $18 for the silk and the paints. The banners will be washed, dryed, and ironed ahead of time for you. Frames will be provided. If you want to buy and keep a frame, please contact THL Isabelle as soon as possible. It is a cost of $25 if you want to keep the frame.
Come in your old clothes and comfortable shoes. Bring a sack lunch or microwavable and any drinks you want.
If you want to include your device or design on the banner, please bring it on an 8 ½ by 11 paper in black line (if possible). I have the Aten Sun and other charges you can trace. Or we can find what you want on the computer. Of course, it will save time if you find and print it at home. I have stencils for boarders. Bring a #1 or smaller liner brush.
This is a two day class for most people as they have lots of charges to paint. It takes an hour and a half just to get the silk pinned on the frame. Time is taken for tracing all the elements on the silk and preparing it to paint.
They need to dry overnight. Sunday we set with an iron (at least 1 hour), wash and dry, and then final ironing, if finished on Saturday. It is a lengthy process but we finish with a beautiful banner to fly!
