As part of the celebration of Banned Books Week, join us for a screening of "Me and Earl and the Dying Girl" (2015). Winner of the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, high schooler Greg, who spends most of his time making parodies of classic movies with his co-worker Earl, finds his outlook forever altered after befriending a classmate who has just been diagnosed with cancer. Directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, the film is based on the novel of the same name by Jesse Andrews. The novel is the 7th most challenged book of 2023.All are welcome to attend this free film screening at MSUM's Library Auditorium, LI 103. Popcorn will be served. Then we encourage you to stay for a discussion after the film.
The room is accessible and the film will be shown with closed captions. MSUM is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible event.
