Bluegrass up your St. Patrick's Eve festivities with a friendly Bluegrass Jam in West Bend. For extra Blarney points, wear green! I'll bring a few Leprechaun hats, shamrock bling, and cookies! All bluegrass instruments and level of experience welcome. Banjo, Mandolin, Guitar, Fiddle, Bass, Harmonica, Percussion, etc.
When: Sunday, Mar 16
Time: 1-4pm
Where: Maurin Center at Lac Lawrann Conservancy
300 Schmidt Rd, West Bend, WI 53090
Feel free to invite musicians you think would be interested in joining the fun! You may come for a short time or the full time.
We'll likely mostly play well-known easy to intermediate level songs with chord progressions that anybody can follow or learn. The idea is just to have fun playing bluegrass music with other people.
Just a few appropriate song examples (but anything goes)-
Angeline the Baker
Banks of the Ohio
Bury Me Beneath the Willow
Cluck Old Hen
Columbus Stockade Blues
Crawdad Song
Cripple Creek
East Virginia Blues
I Am a Pilgrim
I Saw the Light
I'll Fly Away
Lonesome Road Blues
Mama Don't Allow
Mountain Dew
Nine Pound Hammer
Old Joe Clark
Red Haired Boy
Redwing
Roll in My Sweet Baby's Arms
St Anne's Reel
This Little Light of Mine
Two Dollar Bill
Will The Circle Be Unbroken
Worried Man Blues
You are My Sunshine
etc etc etc
About the host: I'm a "beginner" fiddle player that started learning as an adult about 7 years ago. I got bored playing by myself in my house. I decided Washington County needed a jam, so I'm hosting one. :)
