Bangkok Poetry Slam

Bangkok Poetry Slam is a live night of original spoken word, courageius voices, and audience energy.
Poets step to the mic with their own words. The room listens, reacts, laughs, holds its breath, and helps decide who takes the crown.
You do not have to be a poet to belong here.
Come as a performer, a listener, a friend, a first-timer, a writer, a lyric lover, or someone looking for a more meaningful night out in Bangkok.
Step into and be among the warmest, most welcoming audience on the planet! This is where stories become performances, strangers become part of the same moment, and Bangkok gets a little more honest for one night.
Why Come to the Slam
Experience poetry as a live, audience-driven competition.
Watch poets turn personal stories into moments the whole room can feel.

How the Slam Works

..........................................................................................................
What is a Poetry Slam?
Putting a dual emphasis on writing and performance, a Poetry Slam is the modern-day and competitive art of Spoken Word Poetry.
In a Poetry Slam, participating poets perform their original works which are then scored by a panel of judges. The judges score on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being the lowest, 10 being the highest) based on the poet's content and performance delivery. The highest and lowest score are dropped and the remaining three are added to give the final score of the poet.
What is Spoken Word Poetry?
Spoken Word Poetry is a performance focused recital of original poetry. The poetry can cover ANY topic and is open to different styles and techniques. It is a powerful form of creative expression, which gives writers the opportunity, and the outlet, to present their Voice.
Who can enter the slam?
ANYONE. New poets, old poets, non-poets, amateur poets, professional poets, the poet who wrote their first poem yesterday, and the one who just finished their 10,000th poem. ANYONE. Everyone.
