B&W Architectural Abstracts photography workshop

Join us for an 3-hour workshop focused on black and white abstract architectural photography.
Our exploration will take place at the Tate Modern and its surrounding area. Through hands-on assignments and guidance, you’ll learn essential techniques to transform urban structures into works of art. Explore composition, subject selection, and camera techniques suitable for both traditional cameras and smartphones.

About the organiser.
Kevin Koekkoek has over 20 years of experience in (street) photography, capturing authentic moments of urban life. His introspective work emphasises the beauty in everyday scenes and human interactions. Now building a fine art portfolio, he prioritises creative expression over commercial aims. Kevin also lectures at the Royal College of Art and the University of the Arts London, mentoring new talent.

Required equipment.
Any camera or smartphone can work for creative architectural photography—it's more about the technique than the equipment. However, for greater control, bringing a standard zoom lens or a wide-angle lens can be beneficial.

No tripods required.

Bad weather.
In case of bad weather, the workshop will take place indoors and sheltered locations.

Experience.
Basic knowledge of camera operation is required. The primary focus will be on the creative aspects of photography.
