In the early days, narrow woven bands played an important role in fastening clothing — long before elastic, zippers, or safety pins existed. Today, these bands are still appreciated for their beauty and versatility, often used as accessories, bookmarks, headbands, or as decorative accents on garments and home décor. Rigid heddles are wonderful tools for creating bands once you know how to use them.In this workshop, you’ll learn how to weave a beautiful narrow band using the backstrap method on a rigid heddle reed. Ann will guide you through the entire process — from designing your band and setting up your heddle to weaving your own functional and decorative bands.
