This presentation will take you back to Cortland County of the 1850s, when a small band of local women dared to defy fashion norms as part of the fight for women's freedom.
You'll meet the bold Bloomerites who scandalized society by wearing pants and see how their demand for practical clothing became intertwined with the larger struggle for women's rights.
Also, learn about CCHS's rare American Costume that was worn by a local woman. And find out how you can channel your inner reformer by joining our community challenge to create your own history-inspired costume!
