Where: Loop Road, Whangarei (the plantation that is visible next to the river on SH1, south of Whangarei)Tipu farms, Grow4unz & the Tallyman present an insight into NZ bananas.
At this workshop, we will dig out a large established plant to study its anatomy in detail. Then we will spend some time digging out and replanting banana stems. So wear your gardening clothes and bring some water if you wish to participate.
We will spend some time installing some extra companion plants for shelter and chop and drop as well as transplanting.
If you are curious about Diversifying your property to incorporate this great crop, doing a trial run, or are just thinking of growing some back yard bananas, then this workshop will answer your questions and give you the confidence to start successfully growing yummy bananas. There will be bananas and pineapples available to taste test and hard workers on the day will be rewarded.
Price: $65 pp. $80 for couples.
