Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Music Director Laureate and National Orchestral Institute + Festival Music Director Marin Alsop leads this program filled with drama, sweeping emotion and virtuosity. Together, Alsop and the orchestra bring forward the romance and the tragedy of Sergei Prokofiev’s timeless ballet. The program begins with Niccolò Paganini’s heroic First Violin Concerto featuring violinist Ning Feng, who is recognized internationally as an artist of great lyricism and dazzling musicality.
