About The Good Folk
The Good Folk - Eileen Estes, Meghan Mette, Agi Kovacs, Brendan Hearn, and Patrick Winch - are an Irish and American traditional ensemble drawing from the shared musical heritage of these closely connected traditions. Their performances bring together instrumental music, vocals, and different styles of percussive dance, rooted in a deep respect for tune, song, and rhythm. The group’s repertoire includes well-loved session tunes and ballads alongside original compositions, each approached with care and attention to traditional forms and style.
With thoughtful phrasing, tasteful ornamentation, and a strong rhythmic foundation, The Good Folk aim to let the music and dance speak for themselves. Whether performing for longtime fans of traditional music or audiences encountering it for the first time, the group aims to create an experience that feels warm, grounded, and accessible. The Good Folk offer performances that honor tradition while inviting all listeners into the music.
