Many thanks to Liane Radcliffe for giving me permission to use her photo of Ballywalter Beach, which was taken at dawn in 2023, as the event photo.
For our 26th group clean-up of 2025 we're heading down the Ards Perninsula to Ballywalter. This will be the group's 6th clean-up at this location. This clean-up was originally scheduled for January 2025, but wet and windy weather meant it had to be postponed.
If you're after some gentle exercise, some good craic and at the same time ridding our beautiful coastline of litter then please come and join us. Whatever time you can spare is always welcome, so please feel free to pop in and help.
We will meet up at 12.00 pm on Sunday 31st August 2025 at the Play Park at the Harbour Road end (Meeting Point). We'll provide litter pickers and bags, but if you have your own please feel free to bring them along with gloves. We will then take a group photo so if you want to be in it please arrive promptly.
All participants under 18 years-old must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Map: A map of the meeting location will be posted in the comments - the star shows the meeting point.
Parking: There is ample car parking behind the main street shops - accessible via either Well Road at the north end or Harbour Road at the south end of the village.
Terrain: Some rocky and slippy surfaces
Footwear: Walking boots/Wellingtons/Sturdy shoes
Clothing: It's wise to check the weather forecast beforehand. You're advised to wear old clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.
