Balloon Glow 2026

San Juan College (SJC) will host the 2026 Balloon Glow on Friday, September 25, at Graduation Plaza. The evening includes food, fun and entertainment starting at 5:30 p.m., with the balloon glow to light up at dusk. Admission is free.
The entertainment lineup includes Joe Tohonnie Jr. and the White Mountain Apache Crown Dancers, Navajo Hoop Dancers Israel and Paha Sapa Zahne, San Juan Circus featuring Aerialist Emma Boone, as well as crafts and lots of balloons!
Director of Public Arts Events Margaret Clair says, “SJC hands out nearly 1000 blown up or twisted balloons during the event,” making it one of the more popular activities.
Food trucks offering an assortment of food, drinks and treats will be set up, and student-sponsored booths will feature carnival games, face painting and other fun activities.
An After-Glow Concert featuring Shannon Lasalle is included in the entertainment lineup this year. Originally from Louisiana, she spends time in Bloomfield, New Mexico, and can sometimes be found at the Wooden Nickel. LaSalle performs a variety of music ranging from pop to classic rock, oldies and country. The free concert takes place from 8:30 - 9:00 p.m. in front of the Henderson Fine Arts Center.
The 2026 SJC Balloon Glow is part of the City of Farmington Four Corners Balloon Rally, September 25 – 27. The schedule of events includes:
• Friday, September 25, Farmington Lake balloon ascensions, 7 a.m.
• Friday, September 26, San Juan College, Balloon Glow, 5:30-9 p.m.
• Saturday, September 26, Animas Valley Mall, balloon ascensions, 7 a.m.
• Saturday, September 26, Farmington Civic Center, Balloon Glow, 6-8 p.m.
• Sunday, September 27, Animas Valley Mall, balloon ascensions, 7 a.m.
In addition, KSJE 90.9 On The Road will provide live broadcasts of the morning balloon ascensions on the KSJE Facebook page for those who prefer to watch from home.
