The 2026 Survival Day Dawn Ceremony will be the City of Ballarat's seventh reflection and healing event lead by the KEAG Advisory Committee collaborating with local Community. The annual Dawn Ceremony is an inclusive event, welcoming one and all to join in solidarity for reflection, truth-telling and healing.
As a community we come together in unity. We come to reflect, to acknowledge resilience and to strengthen murrup (spirit).
The 2026 Dawn Ceremony is a one hour ceremony with the Ceremony Circle and free native cuppa tea and coffees set up for Community wanting to connect and have a yarn up until mid morning.
If you or family are First Nations mob and want to be a part of the Cultural dance group please contact Mac via facebook page @ngarrimilidjakitjdjarring - "This Ceremony is a culturally safe space for all to come together in unity, honouring the Ancestors and reflecting on the significance of the date. It is also a reflection of our survival, through the connection and continuation of cultural practices. Traditional dancing is inclusive of all mobs." Macaylah Johnson, Wadawurrung Member.
