Our cozy Balboa Weekend Workshop in Trondheim is returning the 25.-27. April. You can look forward to workshop classes with two instructors couples, as well as parties with live music in the evenings! More information will be announced, so stay tuned!

We will offer different types of full passes based on if you have an active student status, are a member of NTNUI Dans or none of the above. Party passes (2 parties with live music on Friday and Saturday, tea dance on Sunday) only have one type and will be released on 1st of February.
Full pass, regular: 1500 NOK (~ 130 EUR)
Full pass, student: 1200 NOK (~ 105 EUR)
Full pass, NTNUI Dans member: 1100 NOK (~ 95 EUR)

𝙎𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙖 𝙇𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙚𝙡 𝘾𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜
Sanna has a diverse background in social dancing and after trying out many different styles, she found her dancing home in Balboa in 2002. In her teaching, she combines practical with whimsical and draws inspiration from any dance to help dancers with all skill levels. Sanna’s classes are known for being fun, light, and engaging.
Mel, known for bringing his enthusiasm and charisma to any dance floor, is a dance instructor who dedicates his time to encouraging swing dancing in the United Kingdom, Europe and North America. He began his dancing and musical background as a break-dancer and DJ in his teenage years in Canada and has been dancing and competing in swing events across Europe and the United States since 2002. Having experience with Lindy Hop and Blues, Mel's current passion lies in mastering Balboa and Bal-Swing - a journey of continuous learning. He has been teaching Balboa in Europe since 2011 and his technical, "down-to-earth" and positive approach to learning helps to make the classes he teaches not only informative but also a fun experience. Mel's aspiration to be an ambassador for Balboa stems from a drive to continuously learn and share his passion of Balboa to enthusiasts alike.
𝙇𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙖 𝘽𝙚𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙞 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘼𝙣𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨 𝘽𝙤𝙙𝙨𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙜
Linda and Andreas were pivotal in shaping Oslo’s Balboa scene and have since played a key role in establishing Trondheim’s Balboa community. Their journey with us began in 2022 when they launched the local scene with the first Balboa weekend workshop. Their engaging and practical teaching style has brought local dancers together and continues to attract participants to their workshops ever since.

𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘀
We will offer two levels during the workshops, with 6 hours of classes in each level on Saturday and Sunday. The levels are described below. If you are unsure which level you should take, feel free to contact us and ask!
𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙚
This level is for dancers who have been practicing Balboa regularly in classes and on the social dance floor. You feel comfortable with the basics like uphold, downhold, out and in, toss out, lollies, and swivels, and maybe you know a few simple variations. You’ve got a good sense of Balboa rhythms and can switch between closed and open positions with ease.
You’ll build on what you already know by learning fun new moves and creative variations. We’ll also work on making your dancing feel smoother and more connected, so everything flows better.
𝘼𝙙𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙙
This level is for dancers who are passionate about Balboa and take every chance to dance it. You’ve been dancing regularly, enjoy social dancing, and have likely attended a few festivals. You are confident in your basics, can adapt your style to different partners, and enjoy inspiring and being inspired during social dances. You’re comfortable dancing at faster tempos and are eager to take your skills even further.
You’ll focus on refining your technique, adding more rhythm and footwork variations, and exploring creative challenges. Perfect for dancers who want to push their skills further and take on new ideas with confidence and joy.

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀
Be prepared for a ton of dancing at our social dance parties, which will take place at our venue: Lademoen Bydelshus. During both the Friday and Saturday parties there will be 3 hours each of live music. Finally, on Sunday we will round off the weekend with a cozy social tea dance (ending at around 8 PM).
