We're excited to have friends of the scene, Katie Frentress and Tristan Gomez, as guest instructors teaching two balboa workshops prior to our monthly dance.Balboa and bal-swing is a partner dance that originated in Southern California in the 1930s. It can be danced to a wide range of tempos and works well on crowded dance floors.
Schedule:
2:15 pm: Doors Open
2:30 - 3:45 pm: Introduction to Balboa
4:00 - 5:15 pm: Beyond Beginning Balboa (Lolli-palooza)

Workshops: $20 for one, $30 for both - includes evening dance
*We will never turn anyone away for lack of funds- please join us and pay what you can (even if that is $0)*
Workshop Descriptions:
Introduction to Balboa: New to Balboa? This is the class for you! We will be covering the footwork patterns, the up-hold and the down-hold basics. We will dive into the Balboa close embrace connection, and work on getting those fundamentals sharp!
Beyond Beginning Balboa (Lolli-palooza): Picking up where the first workshop left off, we will jump into come-arounds and lollies. For the more advanced dancers, we will offer solo variations for lollies, as well as, focus on sharpening up your connection.
