KURSSIN PERUSTIEDOT
Tällä kurssilla tarjotaan käytännönläheistä oppia kehittämään sinua balboa-tanssijana. Harjoittelemme mm. hyvää flowta ja vartalonkäyttöä sekä tietysti edistyneempiä kuvioita. Tavoitteena on myös kehittää nopeaan musiikkiin tanssimista sekä aktiivista ja vuorovaikutteista tanssia. Tekniikkaa ja vartalonkäyttöä harjoittelemme monipuolisilla soolo- ja pariharjoituksilla, joita voit hyödyntää myös omissa treeneissäsi.
Kurssille osallistujat valitaan videoaudition perusteella. Jos olet osallistunut edistyneiden ryhmään keväällä 2026 tai syksyllä 2025, ja haluat että sinut arvioidaan edellisen kurssin perusteella, sinun ei tarvitse lähettää videota. Halutessasi voit toki lähettää myös uuden videon. Jos ilmoittaudut kurssille parin kanssa, mahdollinen valinta ryhmään tehdään parina, eli joko molemmat valitaan kurssille mukaan tai kumpaakaan ei valita.
Videointiohjeet:
Kuvaa vähintään 1 minuutin video, jossa vapaata tanssia vähintään 190 bpm nopeaan musiikkiin (esimerkiksi https://open.spotify.com/track/7l4GGlPJvxWh3qJe9oQMlj?si=1015e1f601e74a0a)
Videossa tulee olla pure balboaa ja bal swingiä sekä muutama throw out.
Arviointikriteerit ovat perustanssin laatu, rytmissä pysyminen, vartalonkäyttö
Lataa video johonkin online-palveluun kuten google drive, dropbox, youtube tms. ja lähetä katseluun oikeuttava linkki viimeistään 18.8.2026 sähköpostilla osoitteeseen [email protected]
Auditiovideon tekemiseen on varattu myös vaparivuoro Triplan sali 2:een to 6.8.2026 klo 18.00-19.00, mistä löydät tarvittaessa myös parin videointiin.
Kurssin opetuskieli on englanti, mikäli kurssilla on osallistujia, jotka eivät ymmärrä suomea. Muussa tapauksessa opetuskieli on suomi. Voit kuitenkin aina kysyä opettajilta tarkennuksia myös suomeksi. Kurssilla on käytössä parinvaihtorinki.

Aika ja paikka: Kurssilla on 12 valmennuskertaa (12 x 90 min) keskiviikkoisin klo 17:30 - 19:00, paikkana Cometsin sali Triplassa, aikavälillä 2.9.-25.11.2026. Valmennusta ei ole syyslomalla 14.10.2026.
Hinta: 179 €/osallistuja. Alennus opiskelijoille, eläkeläisille ja työttömille on - 25€. Lähetä kuva alennustodistuksestasi osoitteeseen [email protected] ennen kurssin alkua.
Kursseille osallistumisen edellytyksenä - kuten kaikkeen Cometsin toimintaan osallistumisessa - on, että Cometsin jäsenmaksu 25 € kuluvalle vuodelle on maksettu. Jäsenmaksu laskutetaan erikseen.
Ilmoittautuminen: Ilmoittaudu myClubiin jonoon sen lisäksi, että lähetät näytevideon tanssistasi. Kurssille voi osallistua niin parin kanssa kuin ilmankin paria.
Kaikki ilmoittautujat otetaan ensin jonoon. Kurssille hyväksytään osallistujat niin yksin ilmoittautuneista kuin parina ilmoittautuneista auditiovideon perusteella siten, että viejiä ja seuraajia on suunnilleen tasamäärä. Mikäli epätasapaino viejien ja seuraajien suhteessa on suuri, saatat jäädä jonoon. Ilmoittautumisen peruminen jonopaikalta on maksutonta.

Kurssipaikka on henkilökohtainen, eikä sitä voi luovuttaa toiselle henkilölle. Vahvistettu kurssipaikka on sitova.

🇬🇧 COURSE DESCRIPTION
During this course, we will give you practical learnings to develop you as a balboa dancer. We will practise good flow, body use and more advanced moves and figures. Our aim is also to develop dancing to fast music and active and interactive dance. We practice technique and body movement with diverse solo and partner exercises, which you can also use in your own training.
Participants for the course are selected based on video auditions. If you participated in the advanced group in spring 2026 or fall 2025 and want to be evaluated based on the previous course, you do not need to send a video. However, you are welcome to send a new video if you wish. If you register with a partner, you are audited as a couple, so either you both get in the group or neither.
Video instructions:
Record at least a 1-minute video featuring freestyle dancing to fast-paced music of at least 190 bpm (for example, https://open.spotify.com/track/7l4GGlPJvxWh3qJe9oQMlj?si=1015e1f601e74a0a).
The video should contain both pure balboa and bal swing including some throw outs too.
Evaluation criteria are the quality of basic dance, ability to stay in rhythm, and body movement.
Upload the video to an online service like Google Drive, Dropbox, YouTube, etc., and send the link with access no later than 18th August to the email address [email protected].
There is also a free practice time reserved for recording the audition video at Comets Club, studio 2 on Thursday 6th August at 18.00-19-00. There you will also find a partner for the video, if you don't have one yet.
The teaching language of the course is English if there are participants who do not understand Finnish. Otherwise, the teaching language is Finnish. However, you can always ask the instructors for clarifications in Finnish. In the classes, we rotate partners.

Time and place: This course has 12 lessons (12x 90 min) on Wednesdays between Sep. 2 and Nov. 25th at 17:30-19:00. The course is held at Comets' Club Tripla. There is no lesson on Oct. 14th 2026.
Price: 179 €/participant. Discount for students, pensioners and unemployed 20 €. Send your proof of discount status to [email protected] before the course starts.
You also need to be a member of Comets to participate any activities. Comets membership fee is 25 € for the calendar year and it will be sent to you as a separate invoice.
Registration: Please register in myClub -system, in the queue, in addition to sending your video. You can register with or without a partner.
We release people without or with a partner from the queue based on the video, so that there are about equal number of followers and leaders. If the number of followers and leaders is imbalanced, you might not get out of the queue. The registration cancellation from the queue is free.
You will receive confirmation of the spot in the course on 20th of August 2026 by email.
Confirmed spot in the course is binding. The spot in the course is personal and it cannot be given to another person.
