Learn Balboa Swing Dance in this Balboa Basics Course!
Starts Wednesday January 8th
Wednesdays, 8pm to 9pm, 7 weeks.
January 8, 15, 22, 29, February 5, 12, 19.
Drop-in friendly for students with some Balboa experience
Trinity St Paul’s Centre, Fireside Room (downstairs)
WHAT IS BALBOA?
Balboa is one of the classic Swing partner dances known for its smoothness, close embrace, rotational energy and intricate footwork. It is often danced to faster tempos. It is sometimes called the “dancer’s dance”.
Come and join the Toronto dancers who are adding Balboa to their dance repertoire!

COURSE DETAILS
Learn or improve the foundational Balboa moves including the two Basics (Uphold and Downhold), Out and Ins, Lollies, the Come Around, Toss-out and Swivels There will be an emphasis on good technique: comfortable hold, proper frame, matching tone, clear leading, relaxed following, complete weight transfer, and maintaining the rhythm, flow and momentum. There will be plenty of time allotted to drill, and some friendly experienced assistants helping you progress more quickly and graduate to the intermediate level.

PREREQUISITE
No experience or partner required. Absolute beginners are welcome. Drop-in friendly for those with some Balboa experience.
Course series is 1/2 price cash at the door for students who have taken the complete series or equivalent
