The Balanced Rook Chess Club meets every Thursday 6:00-9:00pm at Wackadoo Brewing. We are a free social club where you can meet new friends that share a common interest.
Beginners are welcome, we have players of all skill levels from people just learning how the pieces move to USCF rated tournament players that are happy to give pointers to those who are less experienced.
We also welcome players of all ages as Wackadoo is a family friendly establishment and serves more than just beer. We do ask that parents stay with your children, and if you want, you can buy a beer/soda/burger while you watch them play.
Never been to a chess club and not sure what to expect? It’s free, come down between 6-9pm, say hello (hi, I'm Lloyd) and I’ll get you started. You can watch a game in progress or sit down at one of the club’s tournament chess sets and invite anyone who is free to play. After your game you can rematch, invite someone else to play, or take a break and buy a beer while you watch a game, talk chess, or help analyze a finished game.
