Balance Bike Course (Sat 16th, 23rd, 30th Nov, 7th Dec)

Who for?

Our Balance Bike course (4 x 45min sessions) is designed specifically for children aged 2.5-4 years old who want to take their first step towards learning how to ride a bike.

Course description

The course introduces children to a balance bike and develops their basic movement patterns, dynamic balance and gross motor skills through a range of fun activities and games.

The aim of the course is to build the child's confidence to glide on a balance bike with their feet off the floor.

The course teaches riders how to:

• Mount & dismount the bike
• Manoeuvre the bike
• Control the bike
• Stop the bike

The course will be held on the following 4 dates with 45 minute sessions (1.00-1.45pm) each week. Riders are required to attend all four sessions.

• Saturday 16th November
• Saturday 23rd November
• Saturday 30th November
• Saturday 7th November

All sessions will be held indoors in the schools sports hall.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What type of bike does my child need?

If you child has their own balance bike and/or helmet which they would like to use then feel free to bring them along. Children should be able to sit on the seat of their bike and put both feet flat on the ground.

Balance bikes and helmets can be borrowed if you don’t have your own. Please indicate when booking if you need to borrow any equipment.

2. What should my child wear?

All sessions are held outdoors so participants should wear suitable clothing and footwear for the weather conditions. A long sleeved top and trousers/leggings/trainers are recommended.

3. Does my child need to wear a helmet?

Yes, we require all participants to wear a suitable bike helmet at all times during the courses. If you don't already have your own then we can lend you one. Please indicate when booking if you need to borrow any equipment.

4. What is the refund policy?

Full refunds are available up to 7 days prior to the start of the course. Alternatively your place can be transferred to a future course.

If a session(s) has to be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions or instructor illness then an additional session will be added to the end of the course (date to be specified by Little Riders).
