30th Balaji Murthi Sthapana Anniversary and Kalyan Utsav
Sunday 7th June 8am-6pm
Kalyanam of Lord Balaji
to Goddess Padmavathy
Lord Balaji Venkateswara, the divine giver of prosperity, peace, and good fortune, was installed at our temple with the loving support and devotion of our community 30 years ago, in June 1996. Since that sacred occasion, and through your continued blessings and support, we have faithfully upheld the cherished tradition of celebrating His divine anniversary on the first Sunday of June each year.
On this auspicious day, devotees are blessed to witness the sacred and beautiful enactment of the divine wedding ceremony — Sri Balaji Kalyanam — the celestial union of Lord Venkateswara and Goddess Padmavati. This spiritually uplifting ceremony fills the temple with devotion, joy, and divine grace.
As per ancient tradition, a special seva known as Ekantha Seva is offered to the Lord. After the day’s celebrations, Lord Balaji and Goddess Padmavati are ceremonially prepared for rest. Special prayers and lullabies are offered before the curtains of the inner sanctum are gently drawn, creating a deeply peaceful and devotional atmosphere.
The sacred Kalyanotsavam is performed daily at Tirupati and witnessed by thousands of devotees who consider it a rare blessing and privilege to participate as Kartas in this divine ceremony. Such is its spiritual significance that devotees often wait many months for this opportunity.
Balaji Kalyanotsavam brings our community together in devotion and unity, while also giving our children here in the UK a precious glimpse into the richness of Hindu traditions, culture, and heritage. We warmly welcome you, your family, and friends to join us in this blessed celebration.
This year’s Kalyanotsavam will be conducted by:
Sri Chandrasehar Gurukkal
Panditji Bal Krishan Gautam

We will celebrate the Balaji Kalyanotsav at our Hindu Temple, Newcastle upon Tyne on Sunday, 7th June 2026. There will be traditional special worship, enactment and celebration of the celestial wedding

Seva Opportunities:
Become a blessed Kartha (Main Sponsor) for this sacred and divine occasion, and receive the rare opportunity to take part in the holy sewas of Lord Balaji. Sponsors will be blessed with the privilege of sitting in the powerful Homam, performing Kalash Sewa, and offering Annadanam — one of the highest forms of seva, believed to invite immense spiritual merit, prosperity, protection, and the divine blessings of Sri Balaji.
This is a deeply auspicious opportunity to surrender in devotion and receive the grace of Lord Venkateswara. Due to the sanctity and intimate nature of the ceremonies, participation is strictly limited and spaces for Kartha Seva are very limited.
Important Note for Kartas
Kartas will take part in the Sankalpa at 8:00 am and are kindly requested to be present at the temple by 7:45 am. Devotees who are unable to attend early for Sankalpa may send their Name, Nakshatra, Gotra, along with their donation.
