Baking with Honeypie Bakeshop | Chicken Pot Pies

This baking class is a hands-on lesson in making a from-scratch, classic savory pot pie. Led by our founder and Chief Executive Pie Officer, Valeri Lucks - we will learn to make a shortening & butter pastry dough (perfect for saucy, savory, dinner pies) as well as Honeypie's base recipe for creating really great savory pot pie fillings.

We will learn to make our dough, roll, shape and fill 8" double-crust pot pies. Students may choose to make either a chicken pie filling or a vegetable (vegetarian) pie filling. Pies are baked in class to learn the baking process for savory pies (or they may be taken home unbaked and frozen with instructions for a later bake). You will leave a delicious pie and the knowledge to recreate savory dinner pies at home!

Our classes are held at the Honeypie Bakeshop kitchen inside our sister cafe Palomino, this hands-on class will guide you through a variety of different aspects of baking and give you a peek into the life of our bakeshop. Class does have us standing most of the time and working at a table in a professional kitchen. Should you need a seated option for class, please contact us and we can make arrangements.

Ticket for class includes a tap beer, well cocktail, glass of wine, or NA beverage of your choice - all of your ingredients, a printed recipe with instructions, and your finished treats!

Classes are approximately 2.5-3 hours and are limited to 12 people. The Palomino kitchen and bar is open before class and during class serving drinks and our full dinner menu.

(Please note, we can often have long wait lists for our pie classes. Tickets to class are non-refundable if you cancel without more than 72 hours notice. If you need to cancel within 72 hours of class, you are welcome to email us, and we will offer your spot to a person on the waiting list. If it is taken by someone waiting, we will refund your ticket. You are also welcome to give your ticket to a friend and they can attend in your place.)
