About this Event
Join Peninsula Open Space Trust and San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory for this fun and unique opportunity to volunteer at the Bair Island Unit of the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
Volunteers will be guided by SFBBO’s staff and POST Volunteers, and you will spend the morning weeding invasives, or planting native species that will support Bair Island’s ecosystem. Tools will be provided! Spots are limited, so RSVP only if you are sure you can attend. This event will involve lifting, digging, carrying, bending, and walking on uneven terrain.
We will release more details closer to the date of the event. Keep an eye out for an email containing information about what to bring, wear, etc!
Please also note that this activity is best for children ages 14+. All minors must be accompanied by adults for the entirety of the event. As Bair Island is a preserve, there are no dogs allowed. Thank you!
