Baila Sáfica: Sapphic Salsa & Bachata Social

It is Pride Weekend! There is so much happening, we get it! But if you are looking for an event to connect with other sapphics, enjoy and learn salsa and bachata, join us on the dance floor!

We will begin with salsa and bachata classes, followed by a social dance where you can enjoy the music, practice your moves, and dance freely. The classes will incorporate some beginner-friendly steps as well as some intermediate-level moves. But don't be intimidated, as this is a studio/class-focused event, there is your chance to ask questions and learn! Our classes and space are designed with no gender roles in mind, so feel free to lead and/or follow, switch, and connect!

• $15 (Early Bird)
• $20 (General Admission. These will be released once early bird tickets are sold)
• $25 (Support Ticket. Choose this ticket to help us pay our instructors and DJ)
• $30 (Contribution Ticket. Choose this ticket to help us grow our collective and be able to organize more events)

There are going to be NO tickets at the door.

5:00 pm- Doors open

5:30 pm-6:15 pm- A bachata class

6:15 pm- 7:00 pm- A salsa class

7:00 pm-9:00 pm- Social Dancing

Baila Safica is a sapphic salsa & bachata social created to offer a safe, affirming space for sapphics to connect through dance, music, and community.

This is a sapphic-centred event. If you do not identify with the sapphic experience, we kindly ask that you sit out our events. This space is intentionally created to center sapphic joy, safety, and community.

Sapphic identity includes lesbians, bisexuals, queers, trans women, trans men, fems, masc, and non-binary folks who identify as sapphics. Our events are not for cisgender men. Sapphic identity comes in different shapes and forms; we contain multitudes, and it might look different from person to person.

We ask everyone to be respectful of the space and each other. We are creating a safe community, and it means everyone who comes to our events belongs here, no matter how they present! There is no room for harassment, bullying, prejudice, or any type of violence!

We are going to try to have a quiet space set up at every venue, but for some of the venues, it might not be possible. We will still have some fidget toys with us, just ask to use them!

Organizers reserve the right to refuse a ticket sale to those who don't comply with our code of conduct.

Organizers reserve the right to remove anyone who makes others uncomfortable during the event.
