About this Event

We are a small group of dedicated individuals working hard to save this important historical site, the last of only two left in all of Canada, the other being in Ontario and already preserved. Ths amazing structure is the most loved old bridge in Alberta, the most photographed old bridge in Alberta, and the most historically significant historic site in Alberta at risk of being lost. Badlands Boogie had been bringing awarenestand attention to the plite of this nationaly important historical site for 11 years now and with our new non profit society in place, we are ramping up our efforts to try and save this important historical site and restore it, making it into another Drumheller Valley Tourist Attraction. Initial plans call for it to be used as a pedestrian bridge between the Historic Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site and the East Coulee School Museum at East Coulee in the World Famous Drumheller Valley. As former Alberta Premier Rachel Notley stated in her letter of support in 2015, "We must all work together to preserve this icon of the Drumheller Valley". Founding memberships are now available at only $20, please contact us at [email protected], and on Facebook, Save The East Coulee Truss Bridge and Badlands Boogie. If you would like to assist us, we still have room on our founding board of directors, and would love to have help setting up our website and we are looking for bridge consultants and engineers who could assit us in our efforts.
