Join your good neighbors at the Historic Howell Theater Tuesday, May 19th for this important documentary.
As we’re looking at an increasingly brutal and desperate regime, how do we get our resistance to be more effective? How do we move people into a deeper understanding of what it’s going to take to defeat this fascist takeover? It comes back to education- folks need to grasp exactly what it is that we are up against and the documentary ‘Bad Faith’ does an excellent job bringing about this awareness so that we can take action.
Christian Nationalists are executing Project 2025 swiftly while the majority of Americans seem unaware that we are one last step away from full on fascism. Regardless of what happens to T rump, it’s the Council for National Policy that has the staying power and it's that machinery that presents the lasting threat to our democracy.
We must stop history from repeating itself by studying it in order to take immediate action. Seizing control of elections is the last chapter of the authoritarianism playbook and this is where we are currently at. This final step is completed by getting rid of the state's authority over voting. We are seeing this now as they lay the groundwork for “nationalizing” elections with the DOJ currently suing over half of the states for their voter rolls in their attempt to build a national voter database. Defending our democracy will be entirely dependent on the active participation of every single one of us. If we wait to see how it ends then we’ve already lost, we must be effective in our resistance efforts NOW.
This starts by educating ourselves and others regarding the big picture. Doing so helps folks realize that we simply can not replace a couple key players like Trump and think that everything will be ok, we can not wait for elections thinking we can vote our way out of this. Instead, we must take the resistance seriously and organize now.
