Join Landmark Lodge #40 for an unforgettable adults-only evening of culture, community, and purpose as we launch our Backyard Movie Night Fundraiser Series with a screening of the groundbreaking 1973 classic The Spook Who Sat By The Door.
This special 30+ event is more than just a movie screening—it’s an opportunity to come together, relax under the stars, and become an active part of preserving an important piece of local and African American history.
This fundraiser benefits the restoration of the historic Landmark Lodge #40 building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has served as a cornerstone of the historic Black community of Winters Lane in Catonsville for generations. Through your support, we can continue preserving this landmark for future generations while honoring the legacy of those who built and sustained this community.
In the spirit of community, we’ve chosen a Pay-What-You-Want model because we believe everyone should have the opportunity to participate regardless of financial circumstances. Rather than setting a fixed admission price, we’re inviting our guests to contribute whatever amount they feel inspired to give. Whether you choose to donate a little or a lot, your presence and support helps move our restoration efforts forward.
Guests can enjoy a fun and engaging atmosphere designed specifically for adults, complete with concession items for purchase, BYOB accommodations, great music, and the opportunity to connect with friends old and new while enjoying one of the most influential and thought-provoking films of the 1970s.
As communities across the nation gather to celebrate Juneteenth and reflect on Black history, culture, resilience, and achievement, we hope you’ll join us for this event as an extension of those celebrations.
