Contest Details:
Date: Friday, May 1st (7:00 PM) to Saturday, May 2nd (12:30 PM)
Location: Pine Tree Festival Grounds
Categories: Chicken, Pork Ribs, Boston Butt
Prize Money for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place overall!
How It Works:
Each team consists of a chief cook and assistants. Teams will have their own cooking space, and the BBQ must be cooked within this designated area.
Chicken, Pork Ribs, and Boston Butt are the key categories!
Turn-ins for judging will be blind – no one will know which entry is from which team. Judging will be based on appearance, taste, and tenderness.
Turn-in times: Chicken at 11:30 AM, Ribs at 12:00 PM, and Boston Butt at 12:30 PM. Be on time!
Important Rules:
Cleanliness: Ensure your team’s space is clean and safe – you’ll be disqualified if left in disarray.
Meat Preparation: No pre-seasoned meat! All meats must be raw and prepared on-site.
Sales Policy: Only contestants who have registered and paid the fee to sell will be allowed to set up a booth at the Pinetree Festival vendor area or sell food inside the competition area. Any team not registered to sell that is caught selling food will be disqualified from the contest immediately.
Judging Criteria: Scoring will be based on appearance (0.5714 weight), taste (2.286 weight), and tenderness (1.1428 weight).
