Are you completely new to backpacking, camping, and the outdoors? Want to join a group in the wilderness but don't have a ton of time to spare? This trip is for you! This is a gentle, 2 day, 1 night trip on Wisconsin's most overlooked treasure, the Ice Age Trail! Stretching more than 1,000 miles across Wisconsin, the Ice Age Trail features unique landscapes, rocky terrain, scattered lakes, and diverse flora and fauna, all remnants of ancient glaciers that carved this land thousands of years ago. This a beginner trip with a focus on teaching wilderness skills and helping participants engage deeply with the natural world they will be immersed in. Participants should expect relatively low levels of physical exertion, including about 7 miles of hiking over 2 days while carrying 30lb packs on their back.
