Backbone - A Short Film Debut

Join filmmaker Yara Alawi for an intimate screening of *Backbone. Backbone* was recorded during a trip to Falasteen in September, 2025 on a Super8 camera that only captures visuals, allowing Alawi the liberty to illustrate her personal point of view of Palestine in her own words. With the absence of original sound, Alawi’s voice supports the narrative of Palestine as a backbone for its people.
Doors will open at 7:30 PM, with the screening of the film beginning promptly at 8:15 PM.
Ticket includes an exclusive screening of the film followed by a live Q&A with the director, seating on a first come first serve basis, light refreshments, and a 50% donation to [Gaza Soup Kitchen](https://gazasoupkitchen.org/), a non-profit organization providing hot meals and clean water to Palestinians in Gaza.
