November Yoga Teacher Training Weekend
Backbends • Anatomy • Yoga Philosophy • Pranayama
Join us for another immersive weekend of yoga study, movement, and self-discovery as we continue exploring the deeper dimensions of yoga through physical practice, anatomy, philosophy, and breathwork.
This month's training places a special focus on backbending postures, exploring the relationship between strength, mobility, stability, and alignment. Through guided practice, hands-on exploration, and partner teaching, participants will develop a deeper understanding of how to approach backbends safely and effectively, both in their own practice and when guiding others.
We'll also dive into the anatomy of the shoulder girdle and the front and back lines of the body, examining how these structures work together to support spinal movement, posture, and overall function.
Beyond the physical practice, we'll explore the philosophical foundations of Ashtanga Yoga's Eight Limbs and Patanjali's Kleshas, deepening our understanding of how yoga extends beyond the mat and into our everyday lives.
What We'll Explore
🌿 Backbends & Alignment – Explore foundational backbending postures, modifications, safe progression, and the importance of balancing strength with flexibility.
🌿 Anatomy & Movement – Study the shoulder girdle and the front and back lines of the body, gaining a deeper understanding of how anatomy influences movement and alignment.
🌿 Yoga Philosophy – Explore the Eight Limbs of Yoga and the Kleshas (the obstacles to clarity and self-awareness) as described in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras.
🌿 Pranayama – Deepen your understanding of traditional breathing practices, including Viloma, Ujjayi, Bhastrika, and Kapalabhati, exploring their techniques, applications, and effects.
🌿 Practice Teaching & Assisting – Build confidence through hands-on exploration, partner work, teaching practice, and learning how to offer appropriate modifications and assistance.
🌿 Meditation & Integration – Begin and end each day with intentional breathwork, yoga practice, and meditation, creating space to reflect and integrate what you've learned.
