Our second annual Back to School Parent/Child team pinball charity tournament is here!
Saturday, August 23, doors open at noon, start flipping at 1pm, with 2.5 hours of Flipper Frenzy. Top 4 teams will play in finals (2 more games each) to determine final champs.
- $20 per team, and 25 cent coin drop per player per game. All money will be given to teachers nominated by the winning teams. Depending on how much money is collected, we may increase the number of payouts farther down the final standings.
- Team scoring -- we will add the scores of your team's two players together, and compare to the two scores of your opponent team added together, to determine which team wins.
- Pick your teammate responsibly - if they become a concern for any reason, we will be asking your help to manage them (whether the problem is the parent or the child)!
- while billed as a Parent-Child tourney (and we encourage teams that fit that description) we do welcome teams of any pairing that makes you happy. Bring a niece/nephew, grandchild, significant other, neighbor, friend, or show up alone and we'll find you a partner! Just come prepared with the contact info for whatever teacher you want to nominate (or if it's anything like last year, we'll have a half a dozen teachers present/playing that you can nominate), and ready to enjoy a casual afternoon of pinball 🙂
- Coaching is allowed during gameplay, so long as the player wants to be coached 😛
- Extra balls will be on, and will be played by your teammate!
- 2.5 hours of Flipper Frenzy - the short explanation is as soon as any game finishes, one of those two teams will immediately get a new matchup against another team, while the other team goes into a queue to wait for more games to finish. Typically we try to keep the queue somewhere under 10 minutes, though it may go longer if we have more matchups than machines.
- you are welcome to bring your own food into the bar, but please no outside drinks. There will be soda, water, and we're looking at having some ice cream floats for plenty of options for anyone not interested (or old enough) for the bar's other offerings.
