Join us for Canterbury Cathedral’s ‘Back to School’ event, celebrating your child’s transition into the new academic year. Whether your child is starting school for the first time or transitioning into their next school year, Canterbury Cathedral’s ‘Back to School’ event offers a truly unique and unforgettable experience for all the family to enjoy.

Running continually from 10.00 - 12.30 attendees have the opportunity to create their own personalized bookmark- an absolute ‘Back to School’ essential. Then from 10.30 - 10.55 attendees are invited to participate in a fun musical workshop with members of the Cathedral's Music Department. The music workshop is followed at 11.10 by a joyful talk with a blessing. All children attending the event will be given a special Canterbury Cathedral bag tag to take away with them. The bag tag has kindly been sponsored by the Friends of Canterbury Cathedral.

We encourage you to bring your own picnic to enjoy within one of the many gardens and green spaces around the Precincts, or you can purchase some tasty treats from the Cathedral Lodge Lounge or the Cathedral Shop, both of which features some of Kent’s finest artisanal food and drink producers.

All are welcome to attend this multi-faceted event, however it is best suited to families with children between ages 4-11. Please note accompanying adults must remain with their children at all times, children must not be left unattended during any segment of the event. Entry to the event is via free ticket.
