Celebrate the start of a new school year at the Back-to-School Community Event!
Join Burlington Recreation & Parks and community partners on Saturday, August 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mayco Bigelow Community Center for a FREE day focused on helping local students and families feel prepared, supported and excited for the year ahead.
Families can enjoy:
• Free book bags
• Free school supplies
• Free haircuts
• Free food
• Entertainment
• Community resources
• Giveaways and more!
The event is co-hosted by Burlington Recreation & Parks, Burlington Housing Authority, Valores and the Alamance-Burlington Association of Educators, with additional support from community donors and volunteers.

This event is free and open to everyone! School supplies and other giveaway items will be available while supplies last. A school-aged child must be present to receive giveaway items.
