This is your invitation to dress up, get a little spooky and spend the afternoon swapping books with fellow thriller lovers! Our Back Alley Thriller Swap follows the same format as our monthly Back Alley Book Swap, with one extra twist: we’re turning it into a costume party 👀
Come as your favorite creepy character, a classic monster, a suspicious detective or whatever halloweenie idea you’ve been waiting all year to wear ‼️ We’ll award prizes to the top three costumes, so bring your best look and come ready to have some fun 🏆
For the book swap, we’re especially looking for thrillers, mysteries, suspense, and horror — any books that thrill, chill and keep you on the edge of your seat.
How the swap works:
* Bring 1–5 gently used fiction books to swap.
* Book drop-off is 1:00–2:30 p.m. The swap will start promptly at 2:45 p.m.
* You’ll receive one swap ticket for each book you bring. Each ticket lets you choose one book.
* Any unused tickets can be used for 15% off a new book purchased that day. Tickets have no cash value and can’t be saved for a future swap.
* Contemporary titles are preferred; mass-market paperbacks aren’t accepted. Tiny Bird Books reserves the right to decline books that aren’t a good fit for the swap.
After the swap, keep the evening going downtown at the Woodford County Spooktacular! Gather your costume, pick out a few books to trade, and join us for a spooky-good afternoon in downtown Versailles 🦇
