Students may receive free backpacks during Back 2 School Bash
Parents may obtain school backpacks for their children during the annual Back 2 School Bash.
The event will be from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Aug. 8 at the MMC Lascassas Pike at 2668 Lascassas Pike in Murfreesboro.
Redstone Federal Credit Union and MMC provided funding for the backpacks that Community Engagement Unit deputies will distribute to parents and caregivers.
SRO Chad Dodson will collect donations for the Rutherford County Schools’ ATLAS program to provide food and toiletries to homeless students.
Sheriff’s deputies who are child passenger safety technicians will conduct free child car seat checks.
