Basic or Beginners Babysitting will give students the knowledge of what information to have before committing to the job, what to do in an emergency, practice skills of CPR, basic first aid, choking, back to bed, how to care for children of different ages, and much more.
Expand or AdvancedBabysitting takes an additional time to become certified in Basic Life Saving CPR, which includes infant, child, adult, AED and basic first aid. Heartsaver CPR books are included in the fee.
Both programs are designed to be interactive with discussions, role playing and games. Material is presented with online presequests and in person instructions and skills.. This course is designed for students ages 10 and up.
NEW: We are trying an 8 hour course, instead of 2 evening classes of 3 hours each. The 8 hour class will include hands-on kitchen safety training as the students will prepare their own lunch.

Essential: $50
Expanded:$100
Each class includes the cost of classroom materials. Students will receive their certificate(s) and notepad to use as a helpful reminder. Expanded students will receive all of the previous mentioned, along with their certification in CPR, First Aid and AED from the AHA which is good for 2 years. Babysitting books are available for purchase at an additional cost of $20.
Payment is due at the time of registration. Class is limited to 10 participants and spot is not confirmed until payment is made. Registration forms can be emailed and are also are available at City Offices. Forms and payment can be dropped off to Colin at City Hall.
