Polar Wake Forest is giving us this opportunity to raise money with this event to help Michael Northrup's and Deano Flick's families with their cancer care expenses. All net proceeds will be given to these families. Cost is slightly higher because of the charitable goal of this event. Goalies will not play for free but will pay the same entry fee as skaters to participate. Ticket Window for this opens Sunday, March 8th at noon. (DON'T FORGET THE DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME HAPPENS OVERNIGHT BEFORE!) This will be a THUNDERDOME Ticket Window, meaning the first 44 registrations we receive (40 skaters, 4 goalies) will be the ones in the game.
PLEASE BE AT LEAST A COMFORTABLE D-LEVEL PLAYER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GAME. We do not want folks out there who cannot skate or don't know ice hockey rules.
Once we receive the 40 skater registrations, we will sort the list of 40 players BY FRAT RATING and put the first 20 into the 5pm game, and the last 20 into the 6:15pm game. No exceptions--you play with the skill level group game you're assigned so that it's even parity for all.
PLEASE BRING YOUR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS OUT TO CHEER YOU ON AND CELEBRATE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO HELP MICHAEL'S AND DEAN'S FAMILIES!!!
I would like to feature a nice spread of tailgate food and drinks for participants and their family and friends. Please let me know if you can volunteer to bring food and/or drinks to this event. Every little bit helps and if you contribute food/drinks, that means more money goes into the charitable outreach total here. I will make plans to get food later next week but will base the amount of that on what we get from the volunteers as well.
We will have a 50/50 raffle with the winner getting 50% and the families getting the other 50%. Babs will have Frat shirts there for sale and is donating all of those sale monies towards the families as well. If we get some donated items to raffle, we'll do that too, but I realize time is short for this impromptu event.
A free-will donation bucket will be there as well for any family/friends/fans/scouts to donate if they'd like.
As a result of this charitable event becoming a reality with short-notice, the EOY Party previously planned to be held at the Edit Beer Co. has been cancelled. We will still plan to hand out all of the new Frat jerseys at this event, provided they come in. Jeff Brown has a tracking # for the shipment so fingers crossed!!!!
