Baarish is India's only immersive cultural experience that celebrates the many moods of the monsoon through music, storytelling, food, fragrance, wellness, and conversation. Conceived by Excurators, it brings together acclaimed artists, cultural voices, and thoughtfully curated brand experiences for a multisensory celebration of the season.

For the first time, Baarish arrives in Lucknow, a city where the monsoon carries its own distinct rhythm. From rain washed streets and the timeless architecture of the Awadh region to leisurely evenings, poetry, music, food and conversations steeped in tehzeeb, Lucknow offers a beautiful expression of the season.

This chapter of Baarish brings together storytelling and music inspired by the many moods of the monsoon, creating an evening where rain becomes more than a backdrop. It becomes a thread connecting Lucknow's culture, memories, traditions, and people.

PROGRAMMING

Megha Re: A Musical by Askari Naqv

Megha Re is a musical ode to the monsoon of Awadh. The season of dark clouds, damp earth, sudden showers, and the play of emotions. 

Conceived and performed by Askari Naqvi, the performance brings together traditional compositions on Barsaat with the poetry of the Father of Nazm, Nazeer Akbarabadi, Meera Bai, and other Urdu poets associated with the rich cultural landscape of Lucknow. In an intimate 4-piece arrangement of vocals, sarangi, Dholak and tabla, Megha Rey moves through the many moods that the rains awaken - longing and love, mischief and joy, solitude and remembrance.

Kahaani Geeton Ki by Yatindra Mishra

Yatindra Mishra, celebrated Hindi poet and scholar of music and cinema, presents Kahaani Geeton Ki: Baarish Edition, an evocative exploration of rain, music, poetry and memory, and the songs that have made the monsoon timeless in Indian culture.

KUTLE KHAN PROJECT - HEADLINER

Kutle Khan is a multi talented folk musician and singer from Rajasthan, celebrated for his distinctive ability to bring traditional Indian sounds together with contemporary global influences.

A master of instruments including the khartal, dholak, and morchang, Kutle Khan's music carries the soulful energy of Rajasthan while transcending geographical and musical boundaries. Having performed on international stages, he has introduced audiences around the world to the richness, rhythm, and spirit of Indian folk music.

For Baarish Lucknow, Kutle Khan's performance brings a vibrant musical expression to the evening, connecting the earthy traditions of Rajasthan with the cultural warmth of Awadh.

His music moves effortlessly between powerful rhythms and soulful melodies, creating a live experience that is celebratory, immersive, and deeply rooted in Indian musical traditions.

Together, Askari Naqvi Yatindra Mishra and Kutle Khan create a journey that moves from the intimacy of words and stories to the energy of live folk music, capturing the many moods of the monsoon through two distinct artistic traditions.
