About this Event
NEW DATE 26th March 2026
Dress Code: Black Tie
B4 Members are in for a real treat this month as we return to the magnificent Rhodes House for our second B4 Platinum Dinner of 2026.
Following a significant and highly acclaimed transformation — restoring the historic fabric of the House while introducing a striking contemporary underground conference centre — Rhodes House will host our 4th Annual Black Tie Dinner in truly exceptional surroundings.
You can read more about the remarkable redevelopment here: www.rhodeshouse.ox.ac.uk/about/transformation-of-rhodes-house/
Rhodes House is, of course, home to the Rhodes Scholarship, the oldest international graduate scholarship programme in the world. For almost a century, it has welcomed Scholars and distinguished guests from across the globe — and we are privileged to continue our association with this iconic Oxford institution.
Our evening will begin with a drinks reception, followed by a superb three-course dinner served in the beautiful Beit Room.
Guest Speaker: Professor Helen Laville, Vice-Chancellor, Oxford Brookes University
We are delighted to welcome Professor Helen Laville, who took up her role as Vice-Chancellor of Oxford Brookes University on 1 August 2025.
Prior to joining Oxford Brookes, Helen served as Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Kingston University, where she led across Education, Knowledge Exchange and Research. She oversaw Kingston’s submission to the 2023 Teaching Excellence Framework, securing the only institutional move nationally from Bronze to Gold.
Previously, Helen was Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) at Manchester Metropolitan University (2016–2021), following a distinguished 20-year career at the University of Birmingham, where she concluded her time as Head of the School of English,
Drama and American and Canadian Studies.
She is a Principal Fellow of Advance HE and a Trustee of Hospice UK.
Attendance is strictly limited to 60 guests.
Early booking is strongly advised.
