Let’s kick off 2025 with some focused derby skills to help you level up this season! Are you a rookie, C, or B-level skater? Join me February 22, 2025 at Barber Park in Orlando where I will be teaching 2 of my most popular workshops from RollerCon! These will be capped in attendance to provide a low-pressure environment for skaters to develop their skills and have a blast doing it.This clinic will start at 10am with checking in, gearing and warming up. The next session will start at 11:30am.
Session 1
Learn the Standard (aka the Downtown)
Can a dance move on skates make you a better skater in every discipline, including roller derby? Absolutely! That's why teaching the Downtown (aka the Standard) is one of my favorite things to teach to skaters of all levels and disciplines! Come work on that lateral movement, edges, crossovers, and more all in 1 iconic move from roller dancer Richard Humphrey. This will be scaled for all levels, from a basic step to the full advanced dance, so don't be shy!
Session 2
Unf*ck Your Jammer: Offense To Score Some Points
Offense is a critical component of roller derby, and for some skaters it’s their favorite job on the track. Learn what offense even is and when to use it in a variety of scenarios. We will start with communication drills to warm up, followed by contact drills to get us working effectively with our jammers to get points on the board. This class is one of my most popular at RollerCon and has been rated 5 stars by attending skaters!

How much is the clinic?

I can only attend the dance portion/the offense portion. Do I still have to pay full price?
Yes!
How many people will be there?
To ensure everyone gets quality 1:1 time with me and plenty of reps on skates, this event will be capped at 30 skaters. Unfortunately, spectators will not be accommodated at this time.
When do I have to pay for my spot?
All skaters need to be paid up by 2/14/25 to secure their spot. Spots will only be held for skaters that have paid for their spot. If you have registered but not paid, your spot will be given up as the list fills.
What do I need to bring to the clinic?
You will need to bring black and whites, full derby gear, water/snacks, and anything to take notes with. You are not required to wear gear during the skate dance portion.
Do you need my WFDTI info?
Nope! This event is insured (just not through WFTDI) and even if you don’t have derby insurance, you are welcome to participate.
What is Barber Park?
Barber Park is located in Southeast Orlando towards the airport. It has a covered hockey rink with smooth concrete flooring that does run a little slick from dust. There is plenty of free parking, restrooms, and even a little skate park in the back!
Oh no, I can’t make it! Can I get a refund?
Nope! Unless I cancel the event, there will be no refunds. Unsure about signing up? You’re welcome to see if spots are open up until the day of the event!
