🏃♂️ Welcome to Azzapalooza 6: The Daytime Suffer Fest! 🏃♂️It’s that time again! Welcome to the 6th installment of Azzapalooza. To celebrate my 47th birthday this year, I'll be hitting the pavement for exactly 47 miles, and I’m inviting all of you to come out and share some miles, smiles, and sweat with me!
The Challenge: A True Suffer Fest ☀️
If you've been with us for past Azzapaloozas, you know we usually stick to a casual, secretive overnight run. Not this year. We are trading the moonlight for the morning sun and taking over downtown Fort Myers for a true daytime endurance challenge. Get ready to embrace the grind!
The Route & The Math 🌉
We’re taking full advantage of the newly completed walkway over the Caloosahatchee Bridge to complete a massive Downtown Bridge Loop Circuit.
• The Path: We'll be running the historic double bridges, heading up to Pondella Road, and looping back down into downtown.
• The Distance: To hit the magic number of 47 miles, we’ll be tackling approximately 8 loops of the circuit (which breaks down to exactly 5.875 miles per loop for the math nerds out there!).
Basecamp & Logistics ⛺
• Starting Point: Our main hub and starting line will be the Publix in Downtown Fort Myers.
• Support: This is the perfect basecamp because it provides us with easy access to bathrooms, plenty of nearby options to grab refreshments, and comfortable rest areas along the way to recharge between loops.
