About this Event
Join Angelina Fox for a powerful weekend immersion in Ayurveda and Yoga as Self-Care, where you’ll learn how to bring ancient Ayurvedic wisdom into your everyday routines and yoga practice. This training offers yoga teachers and dedicated students an opportunity to understand the foundational principles of Ayurveda, known as the “science of life”, and how they can inform asana, breathwork, meditation, and lifestyle choices for greater balance and well-being.
Why Ayurveda?
Ayurveda and yoga are sister sciences. While yoga offers tools for spiritual and physical evolution, Ayurveda gives us practical frameworks for how to live in harmony with our unique constitution, the seasons, and the world around us. Through this weekend, you’ll discover how to use Ayurvedic principles to guide your self-care, support your immune system, and adapt your yoga practice based on your dosha, age, time of day, and the cycles of nature.
What You’ll Learn:
- The basics of Samkhya philosophy and how it informs Ayurvedic theory
- The five elements, twenty qualities, and three doshas as archetypes of nature and self
- How to identify your own doshic constitution and create a self-care plan based on it
- Practices to balance prana, tejas, and ojas—the subtle energies of vitality
- Daily and seasonal routines to support digestion, sleep, immunity, and emotional well-being
- A practical approach to Ayurvedic nutrition—including agni (digestive fire) and ama (toxins)
- How to bring Ayurvedic awareness into your yoga teaching: sequencing, timing, and intention
- The connection between circadian rhythms and Ayurvedic principles
What You’ll Do:
- Complete an Ayurvedic dosha assessment and design a personalized wellness plan
- Participate in three themed asana classes that integrate Ayurvedic principles
- Explore pranayama, meditation, and lifestyle rituals for physical and energetic balance
- Engage in discussion, journaling, and reflection to integrate what you’ve learned
- Present your Ayurveda-informed plan to the group for feedback and refinement
- Complete a short quiz to reinforce foundational knowledge
