Join us on Saturday 10th October for a guided walk as part of the White Cliffs Walking Festival, exploring the fascinating contrast between East Kent’s industrial heritage and its beautiful countryside. Starting from The Square in Aylesham, this eight-mile circular walk follows well-maintained footpaths through former mining landscapes before climbing onto one of the most scenic sections of the North Downs Way.
Leaving Aylesham behind, the route traces the area’s rich coal mining history before opening out into rolling countryside. Along the way we pass through the peaceful hamlet of Womenswold and the picturesque village of Adisham, enjoying far-reaching views across the Kent Downs and the changing colours of the autumn landscape.
With gently undulating terrain and a relaxed, sociable pace, this walk is ideal for those who enjoy discovering local history while experiencing one of Kent’s finest National Trails.
