Awesome By Design - Character Design Workshop

⭐This is a free 90-min workshop that will empower young female creators to design their own original characters for comics, animation & beyond. We will discuss what makes unique character designs, how that applies to different mediums/genres, and techniques to create standout original characters.

⭐This is for girls, ages 13-17 with an interest in art & design.

⭐Register by July 24th, 2026

⭐Light refreshments will be provided. Attendees will receive a free goodie bag, including a character creation handbook.

⭐What to bring: Bring whatever you use to draw or take notes (sketchbook, pens, & color pencils or digital drawing tablet).

⭐What to expect:

45 mins: Presentation of techniques for making memorable characters

30 mins: Hands-on activity putting these skills into action

15 mins: Attendees will present their character (Optional)
